Hurricane Katrina [Sep. 2nd, 2005|10:17 am]
Gap Inc.
Does anyone know if Gap Inc. will match employee donations for hurricane Katrina? I really would like to help out. I don't know if any stores were affected, but it just so happens that Louisiana and Mississippi Old Navy stores are in our district.

One of my managers posted something that they got in their email today that said something along the lines of gap inc was donating $100,000...i think, and that there was some website where employees could donated and gap inc would make it double or something along those lines, i didnt get a chance to read it yesterday, so i dont know if thats exactly what it was. but i do know gap inc is donating and trying to get employees involved as well.

Also a new bulletin was sent out today to all management. Employees affected by Katrina are given an allowance of $200 for themselves, spouse, and up to two dependents (the $200 is per person) and is available across the entire GAP, Inc. brand. The MOD has to verify the employee ID and have some form of gov't issued identification in order to get it. I'd ask your manager about it since I can't remember all of the details.

Old post, I know, but during a training session my manager mentioned that right now Gap is tripling the amount employees donate.
